Dear CEDs,

CAI will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2013! We’ve developed a plan that will include promotion throughout the year, most notably online and at the Annual Conference. To kick off our yearlong celebration, we have gone live with a 40th anniversary webpage, which includes CAI History Through the Eyes of Past Presidents, an interesting perspective that includes summaries provided by almost 30 former presidents. The site also features an updated CAI milestones PDF and “CAI at 40,” an article in the January-February issue of Common Ground.

You will be getting articles and other anniversary information throughout the year, beginning with an article in January that you can use in your magazine or newsletter. We encourage you to link to the 40th anniversary page on the chapter website, using the 40th anniversary icon and something like CAI Celebrates 40 Years as a hyperlink. You are also encouraged to use the milestones PDF in any ways that work for you. Members will see it as a poster at the Annual Conference and other national events.

A 40th Anniversary icon has been developed for both print and electronic uses (not to be used until 2013). The logo files can be downloaded for from the chapter download section in the “Logos and Graphics” folder. While we encourage you to use the 40 logo. You should not use the chapter CAI logo in conjunction with the 40th icon. That would suggest that 2013 is the chapter’s 40th anniversary.

Print use
TIF - There are 3 sizes (S, M, L) available in color and black and white. The fixed sizes range from the minimum allowed size of 1" wide to the recommended maximum size of 1.5" wide. Please avoid scaling the logos up in size; they will lose quality if you resize them. These are best for use within Word documents.

Electronic use
There is one file as a transparent PNG file. This should work in just about any software.

Either
We also created a vector file, as software is adapting to make this a more universal format. I know it will work in newer versions of PowerPoint. The advantages are that it is infinitely scalable (please hold down the shift key to maintain the equal proportion), it is high-resolution, and it is transparent.

If you use the logo in tandem with CAI's primary logo, please try to keep the proportions shown on the attached PDF.

Please don’t use the logo until the first of the year. If you’re not sure where and how to use the logo after January 1, please contact Frank Rathbun at [email protected]. For technical questions about the use of the icon, contact our design director, Cori Canady, at [email protected].

Thanks—and have a great holiday season!
